A liqueur made from an infusion of medicinal herbs. This liqueur was created around 1920, at the end of the First World War, when Capuchin Paolo Sarandrea, after leaving his post as a military chaplain, resumed his studies as a herbalist with the aim of highlighting the virtues of the medicinal plants that abound in the Ernici Mountains, drawing benefits from them in the liqueur industry. Supported by his brother, Marco Sarandrea, he perfected ancient recipes for medicinal liqueurs, such as the tonic and restorative "Biosfero" liqueur, now known as "AMARO S. MARCO." The plants that characterize it have well-known beneficial properties that are best expressed when infused in high-quality alcohol and spring water. The precise quantities of the expertly measured ingredients make Amaro S. Marco a liqueur of the highest quality with properties that go beyond a simple after-dinner drink. SAN GIOVANNI'S NOCINO
A liqueur made from an infusion of green walnuts (Juglans regia). The night of San Giovanni, June 24th, is the traditional date for harvesting the unripe walnuts used to make our nocino. This precise moment is, in fact, the "balsamic time," which, in synergy with the ancient recipes from upper Ciociaria to Abruzzo, testifies to the faithfulness and passion for this deep-rooted tradition. This tradition requires us to select the unripe nuts from the youngest trees, harvested on the outer branches and in the best exposure, taking care to pick them by hand only, without the aid of any cutting or metal tools. Careful attention is paid to the entire process—infusion, maceration, filtering, storage, etc.—the initial infusion period takes place in tightly closed containers in the sun, avoiding full, direct light. Heat is crucial, as it is essential for extracting the aromas from the plant matter and possibly dissolving the sugar; light, on the other hand, could cause alterations.

HONEY LIQUEUR
The proper legislation does not allow the authenticity of grappa to be altered, and therefore, any flavoring consisting of the addition of sugars or other ingredients precludes the distillate's characteristic name (Grappa or Grape Marc Acquavite). Consequently, our product is called "Liqueur, Acquavite, and Honey" precisely because sugars are added. The alcoholic component obviously comes exclusively from grappa, with the alcohol content "reduced" by the addition of excellent honey, sugar, and other flavorings. The flavor is distinctive: a sweet, smooth grappa with a distinct honey aroma.

LIQUORE RATTAFIA
Liquore a base di infuso vinoso di visciole al 30 %. La Rattafia è un liquore preparato con un infuso di visciole con aggiunta di cannella. La storia dice che il suo nome curioso è derivato dall’antica formula di rito “ut rata fiat“ (“affinché siano mantenuti i patti“) formula usata dai plenipotenziari quando, siglato un accordo, mettevano il suggello di un brindisi con tale liquore a garanzia del patto sottoscritto. Nelle famiglie ciociare ed abruzzesi la stessa tradizione ha avuto seguito nelle contrattazioni matrimoniali tra i genitori dei ragazzi che si apprestavano alle nozze. Da qui il la derivazione del nome infatti : ut rata fiat – Rattafia. È quindi un liquore dal gusto morbido ma deciso adatto a tutte le situazioni, ottimo sia a temperatura ambiente che ghiacciato ed accompagna degnamente pasticceria di qualità e finissimo cioccolato.

SAMBUCA VECCHIA
Liquore a base di distillato di fiori di Sambuco ( Sambucus nigra) ed infuso di diverse specie di anice. La particolare formula degli ingredienti: alcool di ottima qualità, acqua delle fresche limpide sorgenti dei Monti Ernici, zuccheri finissimi altamente solubili, combinazioni di diverse specie di anice e distillato di fiori di Sambuco, le donano un gusto unico, sommamente piacevole, marcatamente distinto e aromatico non paragonabile ad altri prodotti in commercio. La “Sambuca Sarandrea” si distingue perché è il risultato di un bouquet ormai collaudato da secoli che si esprime al meglio grazie alla ricchezza delle proprietà aromatiche delle piante utilizzate. L’unica Sambuca con il “ Distillato di Fiori di Sambuco”, ricetta tramandata ai posteri attraverso un prezioso semplicitario per mano di un paziente Erborista e Fitologo Certosino che studiò attentamente la “Podestas Herbarum et Usum Medendi” riallacciandosi all’Abazia di Montecassino, da cui ebbe origine e vita la famosa “Scuola Salernitana”. La “Sambuca Sarandrea” è qualificata “Vecchia”, quindi, perché usa ancora l’antica formula Certosina, dosata sapientemente in ogni suo elemento componente. Nel 1961, Papa Giovanni XXIII, dopo aver gustato la nostra Sambuca, volle esprimere il Suo gradimento con uno scritto autografo con il quale autorizzò la “Liquoreria Marco Sarandrea” a fregiarsi del titolo di “Ditta Fornitrice dello Stato Vaticano”. Per queste ed altre ragioni storiche, chimiche e scientifiche, la “Sambuca Vecchia Sarandrea” rimane inconfondibile ed insuperabile. L’intenditore può constatarne gli effetti da come il gusto si distribuisce sul palato, ai lati della lingua e dalla sua lunga e gradevole permanenza. Grazie al suo bouquet profumato, oltre che bevuta liscia, risulta ottima accompagnata al caffè, al cioccolato fondente e per preparare ottimi dessert freschi a base di ricotta e cioccolato.
